Become a Dog Model

Think your dog has the personality to own the runway?

Dog Model Casting Call

RexyWear has now met its primary dog-model casting requirements for the National Women’s Show Toronto 2026, and our working lineup is moving through final confirmations and production planning.

We are still accepting a limited number of late applications. A late applicant may be considered for the waitlist, a backup or replacement position, or a limited additional opportunity if the production can safely and practically accommodate another dog.

Submitting an application at this stage does not guarantee that your dog will move to Stage 2, receive a follow-up, or be selected for the show. We will only contact late applicants if there is a potential fit with the remaining production needs.

About the Dog Fashion Show

The Dog Fashion Show will be a 30-minute Main Stage presentation delivered on all three days of the National Women’s Show Toronto 2026.

The final lineup will vary by day based on confirmed availability and production planning. Each participating dog will have an individual runway moment built around their personality, featured RexyWear gear, styling concept, music, stage-screen profile, and MC introduction.

Each runway moment may include:

  • A custom styling concept

  • Premium RexyWear dog gear

  • A tailored outfit or styling elements

  • Music selected for the dog’s personality and runway concept

  • A stage screen featuring the dog’s name and approved public details

  • An introduction from the show’s MC

  • Professional photography and video coverage

The overall show will be professionally planned and coordinated by RexyWear and its project team.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome late applications from dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, coat types, and personalities.
Because our primary casting requirements have already been met, any additional dog would need to fit a specific production need or add something distinct to the current lineup.

Ideal dog models should still be:

  • Friendly and well socialized

  • Comfortable around unfamiliar people

  • Comfortable around other dogs

  • Able to walk calmly on leash

  • Comfortable wearing dog gear and clothing

  • Able to remain reasonably settled in a busy indoor environment

  • Comfortable around music, applause, lighting, and stage activity

  • Healthy and physically able to participate

  • Responsive to their owner or handler

  • Able to meet any remaining fitting, rehearsal, and event-date requirements

Previous modeling, performance, or runway experience is not required. A memorable personality is welcome. Reliable behavior is essential.

Owner and Handler Commitment

Each dog must be accompanied by its owner or an approved handler throughout fittings, rehearsals, and event participation.

Selected owners and handlers will be expected to:

  • Communicate consistently with the RexyWear team

  • Respond to scheduling and confirmation requests

  • Provide accurate measurements and information about their dog

  • Attend required fittings and rehearsals

  • Arrive on time for scheduled call times

  • Remain responsible for their dog at all times

  • Follow instructions from RexyWear and the Event Fashion Show Manager

  • Keep their dog leashed and under control

  • Bring any necessary water, treats, medication, waste bags, comfort items, or other personal supplies

  • Notify RexyWear immediately of any change in the dog’s health, behavior, availability, or comfort level

  • Sign the required participation waiver and media release

This opportunity requires involvement before the event. It is not limited to appearing on the three show days.

Fittings, Styling, and Rehearsals

Late applicants should be prepared to move quickly if contacted. Selected dogs may be asked to complete or attend:

  • Accurate at-home measurements

  • Product or outfit fit verification

  • An in-person meet-and-greet, if requested

  • A temperament assessment, if requested

  • An outfit fitting, if required

  • Runway practice or a rehearsal

All RexyWear workshop measurement appointments for the National Women’s Show took place in September and are now closed. Late applicants should be prepared to submit accurate measurements at home and may be asked for additional fit verification if required.

Final product assignments, outfits, music, show order, and runway themes will be determined by RexyWear and the event production team. All garments and RexyWear products will be fitted with the dog’s comfort, movement, and safety in mind.

Dog Welfare Comes First

The wellbeing of every participating dog is a priority.

No dog will be forced to continue if they appear overwhelmed, anxious, uncomfortable, unwell, or unable to participate safely.

RexyWear may adjust or end a dog’s participation at any stage if there are concerns related to:

  • Stress or overstimulation

  • Aggressive or unsafe behavior

  • Discomfort with clothing or equipment

  • Difficulty around crowds, dogs, music, or stage activity

  • Health concerns

  • Owner or handler reliability

  • Event or venue requirements

Owners should be honest about their dog’s temperament and limitations during the application process. A dog can be wonderful and still not enjoy a live stage environment.

Participation and Compensation

Participation as a dog model is voluntary and unpaid.

Selected dogs and owners will receive the experience of participating in a professionally produced Main Stage Dog Fashion Show and may be featured in photography, video, social media, website content, event coverage, and future RexyWear marketing.

Travel, parking, meals, and other personal expenses are the responsibility of the owner unless RexyWear confirms otherwise in writing.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection, stage time, social media coverage, or inclusion in final marketing materials.

Selection Process

Our primary casting and backup requirements have been met. Late applications are now reviewed only if a waitlist, backup, replacement, or limited additional need develops.

Because production is already underway, late applicants may not receive a Stage 2 invitation or individual follow-up. If your dog appears to fit a current need, RexyWear may contact you for one or more of the following:

  • Phone or video conversation with the owner

  • In-person meet-and-greet

  • Temperament assessment

  • Measurement verification

  • Product or outfit fitting

  • Trial runway walk

  • Rehearsal

Any additional selection will still be based on temperament, confidence, reliability, availability, size and measurements, comfort around people and dogs, ability to wear the assigned products and styling, fit within the show’s creative direction, and the overall balance of the lineup.

Completing an additional step does not guarantee final participation. A dog is only an official participant after final selection, the required participation waiver has been completed, and RexyWear has sent the official confirmation.

Dog Model Application

Tell us about your dog and why they could add something distinct to the show. Keep the existing application-information list and form exactly as they are.

Primary casting requirements have been met. Applications remain open for limited late consideration only. Submission does not guarantee Stage 2, a response, waitlist placement, or final selection.

Ready for the Runway?

The primary lineup is taking shape, but the runway door is not completely closed. If your dog has the temperament, personality, and availability to step into a late production need, you are welcome to apply. We will only move forward with late applications that fit the remaining needs of the show and can be accommodated safely and practically.
